Reunited!

Good Old Games has delivered unto me Descent 3, Outrage Entertainment’s crowning (and, sadly, final) addition to the franchise.

Descent 3’s vaunted “six degrees of freedom” churned many softer stomachs, but delighted this gamer circa 1999. I took my Pyro GX (lovingly displayed on the right) through the mining shafts of the Sol system’s many moons time and time again, blasting hordes of sociopathic robots.

Good Old Games may become a messianic fixture here on Charge Shot!!!, if they continue at this rate. They offer games optimized for a spread of platforms – Descent 3 runs without a hitch, even on temperamental Vista – and they offer them for cheap. $5.99 to reunite me with 1999. That’s roughly the price of a Wendy’s Baconator meal.
